From a surprise cake to popping open the bubbly, it’s all happening at The Portmanteau Press HQ.
To celebrate the 10 K Instagram follower milestone (@portmanteau_press) the lovely, award-winning Black Velvet Cupcakes surprised The Portmanteau Press with a custom-made cake. The Darlinghurst based designer cupcakery Black Velvet is known across Sydney for their wonderfully fluffy cupcakes and velvety smooth buttercream frosting. Baked freshly everyday, the range of cupcakes include signature flavours such as; lemon vodka, double chocolate, salted caramel, passionfruit and red velvet. They also specialise in designer cakes which we were lucky enough to receive as a celebratory gift.
The Portmanteau Press 10 k cake was specially designed to match the website and logo with the vibrant blue vanilla frosting and a chic portmanteau suitcase cake topper. The four-layer sponge cake had a wickedly rich salted caramel flavour, and each layer was encased in a sweet, melt-in-your-mouth caramel frosting. ‘Was’ being the operative word, as the cake was devoured by a few of our readers in no time.
